4Retail builds new Piropo restaurant in Madrid

The new Belbo Collection restaurant is called Piropo and is located in Plaza Santa Ana, in Madrid. The construction firm 4Retail, which specialises in retail spaces and restaurants, has been in charge of the entire construction process for its turnkey delivery.

The interior design project was signed by the Barcelona studio DPoch Studio, with whom 4Retail’s team worked side by side throughout the construction process. The Piropo restaurant is marked by a cosy interior design, where the use of natural materials prevails, such as the use of wood for the furniture and ornamental mouldings, and natural fibres, used both in the seating and in the light fittings and even lining walls and ceilings. This natural look is enhanced by the use of fired clay or tuff ceramic material on some of the walls. The bar area is covered with ceramic scales in a shade of grey, resembling a fish.

Piropo restaurant is Madrid’s first cousin to Candela, a highly successful restaurant located on Barcelona’s central Rambla de Catalunya. The Belbo Collection restaurants are known for being “created with the determination of a gallery owner, in the style of a collection. Unique spaces, designed for culinary indulgence and fine dining, with urban greenery and Mediterranean aromas,” explained the restaurant company. Its distinctive cuisine includes grilled meats, fish and skewered fish, as well as rice dishes prepared on the spot.

4Retail has carried out all the works for the civil works project, installations, joinery, finishes, industrial kitchen and bar.  The new restaurant has a total interior surface area of 300 m2 plus a 200 m2 terrace. The works were completed in just 3 months.

“The 4Retail team is delighted to work on building projects such as this Belbo Collection restaurant, a restaurant group to which we predict a long and successful future,” said Javier Paradell, partner and co-founder of 4Retail.
